adkar® worksheet

There are many models out there that break down the steps required for great change management. For leading change in your restaurant, ADKAR® is a simple and effective approach. Use this ADKAR® worksheet to determine where to focus your change management efforts for any change impacting the restaurant.

 

STEP 2 *
Rate the change on a scale of 1-5 for each of the ADKAR® elements:
AWARENESS - Are team members aware that a change is coming? Have you communicated the “who, what, where and when” to all team members?
DESIRE - Do your team members understand why the change is happening? Have you explained and do they accept the “WIIFM” (the “what’s in it for me”)?
KNOWLEDGE - If your team knows a change is coming and has accepted the change, do they know what the successful change will look like/what it needs to include?
ABILITY - Once your team knows the details about the change, do they have the ability – the skills, equipment, products, process, system – to “do” the change in your restaurant?
REINFORCEMENT - Now that your team has the ability to implement the change, what strategies will you use to make the change “stick” or be successful?
Identify the first element where you scored a 3 or less. That is your “barrier point.” It needs to be addressed first in order to have full success in any subsequent elements of the change.
